Samsung V200 Mobile Phone Review

The Intro

The Good

This is a hugely user friendly little clamshell. It's small, light, and closes with a wonderfully satisfying snap. The interface is made easy by simple to navigate menus and a large, uncluttered keypad. The high res. screen is very well lit, meaning that you will never find yourself squinting at it and the exterior window tells you the time and who is calling (though irritatingly, you can't reject the call with the phone closed). 40 channel sound makes for good ringtones (though see warning below), and the rotatable camera takes good pictures.

The Bad

Battery life - Needs a charge every night otherwise it will die on you the next day. Compatibility - Very limited compatibility with wap/gprs sites. Downloading ringtones, pictures is a pain and games just plain impossible. Given that the built in rigtones and games are pretty awful, this is a real drawback if you're the type that likes to play with their phone.

Overall Rating

Samsung's V200 scores well on functionality and ease of use and it's an excellent choice if you want a friendly, fashonable handset to call, text, and take the occasional photo. However, if you are a bit of a techie and like a little bit more out of your phone, the compatibility issues stop this handset dead in the water.
